“Surviving and Thriving” as a family challenged with PTSD…
Steve Sparks will share his military family’s post WWII experience.   Steve’s father, a US Navy veteran, served in extended combat duty in all of WWII, including later deployment in the Korean War…  This was a time during the 1950’s & 60’s when there was little or no understanding of the painful symptoms of PTSD or treatment strategies for warriors and the children and families affected in life after war.  Steve’s topic includes both military and 1st responder families who live and cope with PTSD.   The audience will have the opportunity to ask questions and participate in the discussion as time permits…

Admission is free but donations are accepted to go to Steve’s favorite charity, Kids Zone of Depoe Bay.  Books will also be available for purchase with a portion of the proceeds going to Neighbors for Kids…

Steve Sparks is a retired information technology sales and marketing executive with over 35 years of industry experience, including a Bachelors’ in Management from St. Mary’s College. His creative outlet is as a non-fiction author, writing about his roots as a post-WWII US Navy military child growing up in the 1950s-1960s.
