It was another good day in the neighborhood, so far. Spanky, Sally, and Simba were up and at ’em early looking for breakfast, while the rest of the fambamly were still fast asleep…
While Sally and Simba were munching on left over salty crumbs and chicken finger bits from the night before, Spanky started his barking and jumpin’ around as usual. He was like that, mostly, especially when something gets his attention in the rain forest.
When Sally went to see what Spanky was up to, he ran out the door toward the rain forest where critters run wild, and sometimes try to invade the neighborhood. It is the job of Spanky and our neighborhood gang of furry loved ones to protect us from the bad guys in rain forest near the Cove…
When Simba started to howl, meow and whine like kitty’s do when they get angry, Sally knew something was up. They both ran out the door looking for Spanky. He was still barking way back in the rain forest where critters roam and wait to invade the neighborhood like they do most days…
Sally saw Ricky Raccoon and the kids running fast toward the rain forest, and knew who the bad guy was by then. With Spanky barking in the distance, Sally and Simba ran after him as he rushed into the rain forest where critters roam, Eagles fly, and mushrooms grow…
As Sally and Simba ran into the rain forest looking for Spanky, they saw Ricky Raccoon and a bunch of other Raccoon neighbors and kids too, running toward Spanky’s frantic barking way back into the dark and cold rain forest near the Cove…
After a breath taking run through the rain forest, they could see Spanky, Ricky Raccoon and the kids with the neighborhood gang under a monster old Spruce, the biggest they ever saw. They were all gathered under the tree looking up at something, maybe scary, maybe not…
As Sally and Spanky got closer, they looked up and saw what the neighborhood gang of furry loved ones were all barking and yapping at. As they looked high above, way up the old Spruce, they couldn’t believe their eyes…
Way way up the Spruce was a feral cat we all knew, named Blackie. He was grabbed by “Gritz” The Entrepid Eagle, and taken to his nest back in the rain forest where most folks stay clear…
With all the fussing Gritz flew off toward the the Cove. He seemed to need a break from the neighborhood gang of furry loved ones making a racket below his nest. It was in this moment Spanky, Sally and Simba held paws and formed a net to save Blackie the farell cat from falling further than most cats can survive without injuries or worse…
Spanky was jumpin up and down with joy when they caught Blackie as he fell from the big old Spruce. When Gritz appeared after a fly by down by the Cove, he was shocked to not find Blackie for his anticipated breakfast treat up in the old Spruce where he always waits for easy prey…
With joy and love in their hearts, Spanky, Sally and Simba marched confidently back home not making a sound. It was the beginning of another good day for the neighborhood gang of furry loved ones who protect their own.
This is the way it was on that day and everyday in the neighborhood near the rain forest by the sea. Spanky, Sally and Simba and the neighborhood gang of furry loved ones watch over all of us they do everyday…
