The Sparks beach cabin for 17 years living with sea birds, Gray Whales, Eagles & Oyster Catchers, and many other furry loved ones & wildlife friends… Humans were okay mostly, I believe…

So long for now, we’ll be back again soon…

Yes, we will be back, indeed! Summer, seems to be the right time for us in these later years. The weather and isolation as we age are the culprits for us as we adjust and adapt to the Golden Years.

It’s not a bad idea to check in with yourself and your partner as health needs change. We can’t do the amazing things we used to do like hiking down to the secret beaches along the coast, to find treasures and inspiration only seen by the hardy ones.

Arizona is a cool place to live. But, being cool and staying cool in the Sonora is learned just like the hunters and gathers did centuries ago.

They kept cool in their cave dwellings just like we do today in the desert, in the comfort of air conditioned homes. Maybe living in a ‘man cave’ up in the Tank Mountains is not on a bad idea.

On the coast we stay inside more than my mind and body can stand these days. The warm sunshine and blue skies elude us most of the time.

We’ll come back when the warm sunshine is back during the summer months, then return to the Sonora. The sunshine and warmer weather heals my body and soul.

My best of the best memories…

Think I’ll miss Matt ‘n Mattie the most. We’ve been friends for 17 years now. I wonder if they will miss me? I believe they will, the little Goslings too.

Oyster Catchers always perk me up when they keep guard on their nest. These gorgeous shore birds keep their family safe from Eagles, and other predators, who want to picnic at the beach.

Canadian Honkers, Matt ‘n Mattie return for the season to raise their little Goslings…

Come with me to the Sonora as we continue a life of adventure and romance. The Sonora calls us now. So long for now, Little Whale Cove, we’ll be back to see the Goslings again before they fly away.

Stormy days on the Central Oregon Coast are a stunning spectacle…
