Soul Food and Musings
“It’s the things in life that feed our heart and soul, like healthy relationships, enjoyable physical activity, a fulfilling /satisfying career, and a meaningful spiritual practice. These things can satisfy our deepest hunger, a hunger for a happy and fulfilling life.Aug 26, 2016.”
Today’s soul musings…
As I listened to a talk about the tragedy of trauma in the work place and in life, it was triggering. But a healthy experience of healing for me. Trauma has been at the center of my life experiences…
The triggering part can push many of us away from interacting with others, and to learn. Awareness is the first step in healing. And believe me when I say it’s “a work in progress” for a lifetime…
Too many of us hide our emotional traumas at home and in the workplace. Our community is trying to change that with “Trauma Informed Care” practices. We do this with programs of education and peer support. It’s a tough slog through a swamp full of critters that snap, bite, and attach themselves to your body. The mosquitos are worse…
For me, it’s a life saving healing process and journey. It takes time and discipline. It’s worth it, though. I’m still here at age 75!
A new grandson, good health, a purpose and hope for the future gives me energy. My dear wife, best friend and partner keeps me grounded. I can live in the moment for more than a day now, a blessing, indeed…
I know it’s hard. In fact it’s a shitty slog though an infested swamp from a traumatic life. Too many of us go through this experience without help and die too early…
You too can change that and process the pent up baggage of trauma, repressed memories and insidious depression. Peeling back the onion and emptying the trash can bring lasting peace of mind. It’s very hard, though. But now, I see the hard work is worth it.
Keep going! Don’t give up! Reach out to others who care about you and your soul. Reach out to your community, get engaged. You will not be disappointed…
