Is PTSD a Pandemic?

The above video by a new non-profit supporting PTSD awareness and veterans in particular, speaks for itself.  I have been thinking for some time about the question of how war has affected the soul of America over many generations, especially my own boomer generation.  In my time, we didn’t even talk about mental illness because it was taboo!  In fact, in my family the subject of mental illness was put in terms of humor and making fun of others who were challenged.  Sad commentary to say least.  Now we are overwhelmed at times with information regarding PTSD, including significant federal government resources addressing the problem and community public/private organizations like,  http://www.invisiblewound.us/ who produced this video.  The PTSD challenge for America will be with us for generations to come, but we can all help by making the subject a community responsibility and promote awareness at every opporunity.
