Dust Tornados Can Be Dangerous
“They are comparable to tornadoes in that both are a weather phenomenon involving a vertically oriented rotating column of wind.
Most tornadoes are associated with a larger parent circulation, the mesocyclone on the back of a supercell thunderstorm.
Dust devils form as a swirling updraft under sunny conditions during fair weather, rarely coming close to the intensity of a tornado.”

Worries?
Dust storms can be fun to watch, but don’t get too close unless your a good runner. I loved the mindfulness distraction while driving across the desert.
We were sitting on the patio of our friend’s home in Surprise, Arizona while visiting recently.. The real ‘surprse’ was to feel the wind pick up and swirl through, blowing all the furniture in the backyard into a big tangled mess to clean up..
Dennis remarked, with a laugh, ‘amenities!” I kinda liked the excitement and brief distraction. I helped Dennis with the furniture rearrangement, and yard cleanup of stuff blown around, not hard, except pool. No worries.
Hope this helped those who wonder some about dust tornadoes. I love the beauty and spector of desert life.
