My friend from Uganda, Akiikih Apollo Newlife, is a beautiful young man, who survived a unimaginable childhood in a foster home. Foster “mummy” parents are often abusive. They are caregivers with overwhelming responsibility for to many little ones, most abandoned by their parents.

These orphans may not enter a orphange until, maybe, middle school. They have to be ready for this next step, I believe.

Judy & I have summarized without bring on the ground, that birth to 3, kindergarten, until middle school is so underfunded that our standards of early child intervention, development and school will never produce optimal outcomes that can be measured.

We will continue our research to develop a needs assessment that clearly identifies the gaps. Right now, because of our training and professional experience over many decades, we see this as a starting point to learn more about other cultures around the globe less fortunate than Amerkca.
