NewportOregon — Two Olive Ridley sea turtles have been found on Oregon beaches within the past month, indicating a change in ocean conditions and the potential for more strandings as winter approaches. An adult female Olive Ridley sea turtle was reported stranded on a beach in Lincoln City earlier this week.

“Ted and Tammy Ridley” were caught in a storm one day this last winter. The Oregon Coast winter storms make it tough for the Ridley’s to stay at sea sometimes…

A vessel struck Ridley’s clan injuring and killing many loved ones.. Injuries and deaths were caused by propellers way out at sea…

Winter storms and King Tides push the Ridley’s on to the beach sometimes late in the year. Olive Ridley Turtles prefer to stay at sea.

The Ridley’s come again when it’s time for the annual baby shower on the beach, maybe, in the spring… The little ones get ready for another race from the beaches to the sea…

The little Ridley’s are born on the beach just once each year… Once ready for the journey out to sea, the little’s run a sprint to the safety of the surf and sea…

The Ridley’s thrive at sea. Far, far, and away from the beaches from which they came…

We dream of Ted and Tammy Ridley’s return to the beaches of Oregon once again. For we love to see the little Ridley’s hatch and grow. Then, race out to sea to love one another once again…
