“His name is Rumi (after the mystic) and he has been with us for 15 years. We have noticed he is getting older and less adroit. But we will miss him too. He has missed very few days to visit. Wish we could take him with us!😢” A memory to treasure always. Rumi lives forever.” Kate Madison, Little Whale Cove, Oregon October 2020.
Kate and Don Madison were dear friends and neighbors for 15 years. We miss the Community Garden they gifted to us. We so looked forward to walking the coast trail in the early summer when the garden was in full bloom.
Kate and Don moved back home to Minnesota to be with their family. We miss them very much. They gave so much of their kindness and love as neighbors, and live in our hearts forever just like “Rumi.”
Rumi, my wise old neighbor and friend told me so…
Rumi loves to say, “Lovers don’t finally meet somewhere. They’re in each other all along.”
Rumi in healing, “The wound is the place where the Light enters you.”
Rumi would say, “Don’t grieve. Anything you lose comes round in another form.”
Rumi wanted you to know, “Stop acting so small. You are the universe in ecstatic motion.”
Rumi told me often, “Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing there is a field. I’ll meet you there. When the soul lies down in that grass the world is too full to talk about.”
Rumi tells me too, “Let the waters settle and you will see the moon and the stars mirrored in your own being.”
Rumi whispered to me, “Be melting snow. Wash yourself of yourself.”
Rumi’s soul speaks, “Only from the heart can you touch the sky.”
