I picked up a piece of strange looking driftwood on the beach at the Cove. It was black and completely soaked with sea water. I didn’t know what it was then…

The piece was heavy too. I almost left it on the beach. My curiosity wouldn’t let me. Beach combing does that to me…

So, I took it home to dry out. I thought it would take many weeks to dry out. And it did. Seemed like it would never dry out…

The piece was very light after drying out. It was beautiful too. Zoom in to see for yourself. Imagine how the sea formed this perfectly shaped sculpture made from nature’s sea power over time…

Some weeks later, I started to see this beautiful Red Cedar piece of driftwood transform. All the nooks, cranies, corners and crevasses appeared. I gazed at it for several days imagining how old and where it came from…

I started cleaning and sanding all the edges revealing secrets from the sea. I could see the little creatures carving holes that took up residence over time. It must have traveled along the shore and out to sea over many decades…

The tides and winds showed the way until it landed on Little Whale Cove Beach after the storm. Imagine where it traveled and how many decades in the making…

When the piece was finished, I saw a Heron sitting on the top. This, then, became a sculpture to enjoy forever…

The treasures of the sea move my soul and bring a peace of mind never felt before. A sculpture made by God not man is a special gift from the sea…

Go find your special treasure from the sea. Find your secret cove along the coast. These moments of mindful mediation will bring love and peace to your heart and soul…
