“Exploring the Intertidal Zone – the strip of beach that is submerged in water at high tide and exposed at low tide.”
Jenny, Judy, Glady & Jack exploring…and learning
One of the highlights of our adventure the last three weeks was arriving in Seattle to visit with our dear nieces, Kristin, Jenny and their families. Carkeek Park, definitely an “Urban Oasis,” was a great spot to hang out and get the full experience of Puget Sound at its best. This was our first visit to Carkeek Park and we were impressed. It seemed like we left Seattle completely when driving down into the park to escape to an oasis far from the big city life. Kids love the beach! And they learn so much exploring during low tide. Seattle Aquarium volunteers explain the variety of extraordinary sea creatures that live most of their life underwater. This was another delightful example of being one with nature and taking it all in with complete abandon.
